The asiamed synthetic SETA tape originates from the synergy developed between the German manufacturer asiamed and Prof. Bellia Rosario method. This kind of product is particularly suitable in biomechanical field since it allows, thanks to its structural characteristics, a dynamic functional and/or articular stabilization graded and variably combined.

Its constitutive nature of rayon and its stable adhesion given by hypoallergenic glue, allow a"multiplanar" overlap and stabilization so distributed and progressive which could not be achieved with the cotton or nylon tape because it could "exfoliate".This kind of versatility makes the asiamed synthetic SETA tape particularly suitable in sport traumatology field as well as in general physiotherapy. The cotton tape remains fundamental in neuromuscolar tape applications with the modulation mode of muscular tone and joint (articular)action. The nylon tape, for the specific peculiarity of the bidirectional elasticity, is suitable for the emo-lymphatic drainage applications and for tissue decompression.  The asiamed SETA tape by Prof. Bellia Rosario is the tape that was missing for making complete the modern vision of elastic bandage: draining, joints and muscles stabilizing and biomechanical.


Asiamed synthetic SETA tape by Prof. Bellia Rosario features

  1. Weave of the Rayon support and consistence: very refined and regular.
  2. The tape has a longitudinal elasticity  of approximately 65%.
  3. Breaking point: superior than cotton tape.
  4. Elastomers:  elastomers are present in good amounts giving an excellent elasticity to the tape.
  5. Quality of the cut: after cutting the fiber does not  “slip out”.
  6. Distribution of the glue surface: after the "tensioning" maintains its distribution on a regular basis.
  7. Adhesiveness: the adherence on the skin is good and it remains that even after repeated contact with water. The tape , for that reason, can be used in multilayered way allowing the application procedures of stabilization, such as in the “stabilization Bellia taping system” - S - BTS
  8. Reaction to water: the tape absorbs water, dries quickly and has a good resistence in simple trajectories. After being wet, maintains a good elasticity without "sagging" unlike with cotton tape
  9. Allergic reactions: in the numerous performed tests there were no allergic reactions.
  10. Size: 5 cm.

  12.  Deformability after the application: the tightness after the application provides a good support if it is used individually, while if it is used in “Powerful taping Prof. Bellia Rosario System(PTKS) can be an excellent solution for the stabilizations of the joints, tendons and important muscle masses in "graded" way.     E.C.  Deformability after the application: the reduced deformability allows to have a dual    effect in applications in single layers, there are kinetic-functional dynamic support effects and in the multi-layered applications can be reached the support effects of mechanical-articular stabilisation with a gradually progressive impact on muscles, tendons and joints.

Technique - “Powerful taping Prof. Bellia Rosario System” (PTKS)

This new application method allows to vary the application tension of the tape. The distribution in more layers allows to support the joint of interest in differentiated and multi-planar way.


Preparation steps for Powerful tape (application example : Shoulder) :

The tissues are damaged because of the stresses which they are subjected

The mechanical stresses exceeding the functional capabilities of the anatomic structures can cause an inflammatory condition that, if protracted trough time, can lead to tissue damages proportional to the effects of suffered "loads". (Ryan Kendrick)

The tenocytes, in the tendon structures, control their proliferation, cell differentiation and the collegane genesis by the codification and secretion of proteins with specific action like transforming growth-factor beta - TGF - β , and the insuline-like growth factor – IGF; accordingly from them depends the growth of the tendon fibers and the related functional load capacity. (Christopher Kaeding).  This last one can be easily supported and modified, especially in athletic context,  by the use of the tape that can improve sport performances and recovery after traumas. Most of the dysfunctions that we find are caused by ""functional overload": the technique  “Powerful taping Prof. Bellia Rosario System” accomplished with the tape  “synthetic SETA tape by Prof. Bellia Rosario” is used to dissipate a part of the mechanical forces the structures are subjected during the movement.

The application of the tape is able to affect advantageously the joint biomechanics without impacting the final performance of the movement. This kind of feature is particularly useful in athletic field.

  • Biomechanical analysis of the movement  
  • Identification of the structures affected by functional overload
  • Tape application after the functional biomechanical analysis to maximize and sustain the purpose of athletic
  • Decide the “rehabilitation” elasticity to achieve, following the individual joint force lines with the overlapping of the “synthetic seta tape by Prof. Bellia Rosario”, as in the scheme shown in the table of lengthening tests of the tape. The choice of the application tension multiplanar and overlapped.
  • The bandaging will give modification to the joint dynamics, so, after the bandaging there will be comfort and absence of impediments to the multiplanar movements.



The PTK allows to reduce, with its elastic properties of dynamic guide and containment, the pathogenetic cargo stresses of the joint arthrokinematics and allows to act effectively on the propriocetive neuromuscolar system with effects of pain control and on various steps of acceleration and deceleration of the movement. “In sport applications is recommended to make bandage at least one hour before the performance and, if necessary, to improve the tape sealing, it is recommended to use a “spray pre-tape”.
